Despite the disinterest that many people have in things that are old, classic car shows still fascinate car enthusiasts of all ages. Frequently, there is a certain nostalgia elicited in many viewers of these machines of experiences and a curiosity in others. Here are several classic car shows worth attending:

Iola Classic Car Show

This show is organized by Iola Old Car Show Inc., a non-profit corporation created to promote the antique automobile industry and to encourage the betterment of the communities in the area financially. With 1,600 camping sites and 1,000 car corral spaces, along with 4,200 swap spaces, this exhibition is a production of Iola Old Car Show Inc. This non-profit corporation promotes the automobile industry.

Syracuse Nationals

This car show has been around for two decades in central New York. In 2019, the event reaped more than $75,000 in charitable donations. Of much interest is the Rockabilly Roundup, which features over 400 cars in non-restored conditions. Owners of these vehicles proudly showcase these vehicles to which they gave “tender, loving care,” and their display is a highlight for many who attend the event.

Back to the ’50s Weekend

Named USA Today’s Best Car Show three years running, this popular car show is conducted at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds for 47 years. This show first featured 150 cars, but now there are nearly 12,000 cars displayed, including hot rods belonging to Jay Leno. Classic car enthusiasts love the range of vehicles that includes rat rods, custom cars made from inexpensive or cast-off parts that lack paint and show rust with innovative parts such as a rifle for a gear shift. There are also magnificently restored relics from the 1920s and other early decades. Of course, there are the designer hot rods and beautifully restored cars from the 1950s.

Hot August Nights

Named after Neil Diamond’s famous song, this event attracts nearly 500,000 spectators as it celebrates the 50s and 60s. It displays more than 5,000 cars. There are drag races, the ROW Show n’ Shine competition and the Vintage Trailer Revival.

Classic Car Show

Held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, this car show has several events, among which is the Elegance event, known for featuring “a genteel garden party with the world’s finest collector cars” such as various models of the Rolls Royces, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Jaguar, Cadillac and Lincoln.
